
Military applicants may also need to provide:

- ACT or SAT test scores
In order to receive all 6 credits towards the AAS degree, MOS 68E applicants will need to successfully complete 3 written assessments and one clinical assessment.

- DAH 101 Infection Control and Medical Emergencies (2 credits)
- DAH 124 Materials in Dentistry (2 credits)
- DAH 135 Oral Radiology + Clinic Assessment (2 credits
IMPORTANT: Transitioning service members must contact BSCTC’s Military and Veteran Campus Resource Team as well as the Dental Hygiene Program Director in order to receive these credits.
Licensing Pathways and Requirements
Basic Requirements
In addition to meeting each pathway’s specific application requirements, applicants must also:
Provide a copy of successful completion (within 3 tries) of one of the following regional clinical exams:
- The Commission on Dental Competency Assessments (CDCA) or North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners (NERB)
- Council of Interstate Testing Agencies (CITA)
- Central Regional Dental Testing Service (CRDTS)
- Southern Regional Testing Agency (SRTA)
- Western Regional Examining Board (WREB)
If applying for licensure by credentials from another state since graduation, an applicant must also:
- Provide verification of any license to practice dental hygiene held previously or currently in any state or jurisdiction (copy of license not accepted). These must be sent directly to the Board from each jurisdiction within 3 months of submitting the licensure application.
- Provide a copy of a National Practitioner Data Bank Report AADE Clearinghouse Report
- Initial reports are obtained by the Board. Applicants are required to provide a written report for any positive results.
- Submit a $25.00 report fee, made payable to the “Kentucky Board of Dentistry”
If applying for licensure by examination (more than 2 years after fulfilling requirements of CODA accredited program), an applicant must also have:
- Held a license to practice dental hygiene in good standing in another state or territory of the United States or the District of Columbia or;
- If the applicant has not held a license in good standing, they must complete a board approved refresher course prior to receiving a license to practice dental hygiene in Kentucky
